Mr Koo Tsai Kee was an MP in the constituency of Tanjong Pagar GRC from 1991 to 2011. After his retirement from politics, he served as an MD in Temasek International Pte Ltd from 2011 to 2016. He now serves as an Advisor Director in Temasek International Advisors and sits on the Board of Elite Commercial REIT and Temasek Foundation. He spends time in grassroots work serving as 2nd Advisor of Tanjong Pagar GRC and Chairman Audit Committee of the Tanjong Pagar Town Council. He was past Chai日man of the Tanjong Pagar Town Council from 2006 to 2011.

He began his career in the now defunct Public Works Deparment after finishing National Service and completing his undergraduate degree from the University of New South Wales in 1979 on a Colombo Plan scholarship.

Thereafter,he spent many years in Nanyang Technological University before joining politics in 1991. As a young politic一an, be was immersed in union activities in the National Trades Union Congress becoming a Assistant Secretary General. He also advocated for consumer protection by serving as the President of CASE in the run up to the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax.

In the course of his 20 year political career, he was rotated through several Ministries including Finance, National Development, Environment and Water Resources and Defence. He retired as a Minister of State.
